Do you know what this sweet is called? Not the banana fritters, the other one. I know the white part is made from coconut & sugar. The shell is some sort of crepe folded over the coconut mixture. I can't remember what the orange stuff in the middle is ... I do remember it being absolutely amazing tasting though.
If you know what the sweet is called please comment, I want to make them.

I found a recipe!
It's a sweet Thai taco or, Khanom bueng--the yellow stuff is egg.

That is an interesting concoction... is it considered an entree on it's own, or a desert item?.. I love the variety in Thai food. In the meat catagories, I know Thai covers pretty much any type. Did you see a particularly commmon meat snack/dish served on the street? Just curious. How's the transition back to Maine?..
ReplyDeleteCheers.
It's sold on the street and at markets, as a dessert. Since I didn't eat any of the meat I don't really know how to answer that. I saw a lot of it but never figured out what most of it was. Fish balls, fried chicken, beef sticks, fried bugs and worms, ants, cockroaches etc. I'm working on a post about cooking school when we went to the market and she showed us a whole bunch of crazy meat stuff including chicken blood sausages, ewww.
ReplyDeleteMaine is okay. I'm freezing and a little bored but back to work this week so that'll help.
